Dr. Matthew Seebaum serves as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for the Rapid City Area Schools. In this role, he is focused on leading the educational side of the organization with an emphasis on developing and supporting school administrators. As an educator, he has worked for over 25 years in assorted roles including teacher, principal, coach, and national leadership consultant.
Outside the field of education, Matthew has served as a passionate advocate for raising awareness for pediatric brain tumor research. He and his wife, Stephanie, started the Tanner Seebaum Foundation in 2006 in honor of their son who courageously battled brain cancer for the majority of his life. To date, the Tanner Seebaum Foundation has granted over $1 million that directly impacts Children’s Hospital Colorado—funding improved treatments for children with Ependymoma brain tumors. Matthew loves spending time outdoors, and in his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife at their lake house in Wyoming.
